Application Guidelines for The First Unitarian Church of Duluth's Vi Kochendoerfer Fund

In preparing a request for funds, the following guidelines should be considered. The fund committee will use these guidelines in considering your request and making a determination as to whether your proposal meets the intent of the Kochendoerfer Fund.

  1. The Kochendoerfer Fund has been established to enable youth and young adults to participate in endeavors and Unitarian Universalist activities in the "larger UU world." Youth are eligible who are in grades 7-12, and youth adults through age 24 (as stipulated by Vi Kochendoerfer). Priority will be given to those youth and young adults who are actively involved in some way with the First Unitarian Church of Duluth.
  2. The gift was made to make possible the definition and expression of UU principles.
  3. All proposals must include a method to communicate what was gained from the experience to the larger congregation upon completion of the expenditure of the funds (i.e.: a "life matters" during a regular church service, newsletter article, pictorial display, video, etc).
  4. Fund requests will be considered on an ongoing basis until funds designated for the year have been exhausted. The committee considering requests will meet on an "as needed" basis.

Using the "Kochendoerfer Fund Request form", please send your application to:
