College Street Project Task Force- Phase II Finishing

logo building to grow our principles

Following Certificate of Occupancy on May 13, 2008, Phase II Finishing of The College Street Project Task Force, at the direction of the Board of Trustees, has been charged with further development of the building interior, exterior and grounds not included in General Construction contract and to conduct additional capital fundraising as needed. We meet on an as needed basis, our meetings are open and we welcome you to attend.

Our first endeavor was to create a process to receive and analyze esthetic ideas from the congregation.  We developed an Application for College Street Esthetic Idea (download application). Next we developed a Priority List of items for safety, programming and operations of the new building which will evolve over the coming years as needs and wants become known and as funds allow.  Since we moved in early 2008 many smaller finishing and furnishing needs have been met thanks to additional financial contributions of many, many people.   In November 2008, with the assistance of Fundraising/Special Events chaired by Ann Fryberger, we planned for and raised $13,000 to construct three rooms in the east end Great Room primarily as religious education classrooms.

A separate team of congregation members chaired by Judy Blank raised almost $75,000 and the Kitchen Kabinet Committee (Marree and Bob Seitz, Jill & Koresh Lakhan, Barb Anderson and Rita Bergstedt) planned and equipped and Chris Edwardson constructed a fabulously functional kitchen.  The kitchen was certified Commercial in December 2008.

Many items remain on the Priority List to be completed as funds can be raised over the years to come.   Our building is a work in progress.  Come and share our vision of a sustainable faith home.
