John Kelly was a beloved artist and loved the theater. In his later years he painted 70 water color paintings of houses and businesses along Duluth's ever changing Superior Street.
The paintings were donated to the First Unitarian Church to help in building a new church which John wanted to see happen and this was a way for him to still be apart of this project after his death. What a great way to be remembered.
