Do You Have Your Health Care Directive Complete?

This year’s experience dealing with the pandemic may have brought forth a keen awareness of one’s own mortality. There may be a new sense of urgency and interest in completing a Health Care Directive. This document can clearly outline your preferences for end of life care. It is more important though, to actually have a conversation about one’s wishes at the end of life with family and loved ones! In this year of Covid, there have been many articles in the New York Times and Washington Post written by physicians pleading with the public to think about end of life care either through family conversations or Health Care Directives. These would have been so critical and helpful in their caregiving decisions with patients having a Covid diagnosis. We have resources within our congregation that can assist you with this process.
